Denpasar History Food Tour

Denpasar city, also known as Kota Denpasar, is the capital city of Bali province, Indonesia. Denpasar city was originally a center of the Badung kingdom, which was conquered by the Dutch in 1906. Nowadays, Denpasar has become a member of the OWHC (Organization of World Heritage Cities) and possesses a variety of cultural traditions that must be preserved. One of these traditions is food. This food tour offers the experience to see the old city of Denpasar and learn about it’s history throught the agess. The tour begins with you sampling Balinese coffee in one of the oldest Balinese coffee shops and continues with enjoying several Balinese dishes from traditional meals savored by locals to foods popular with Balinese locals today. During the four-hour food tour, you can enjoy a variety of signature Balinese delicacies in six different venues. At the same time, you will also be enlightened about stories of Balinese culture by a professional local tour guide. This trip IS NOT suitable for guests who are vegetarian, have halal dietary needs or can not eat chilli.

Balinese Cooking Class in a House Village

This tour is only suggested for guest staying in Ubud Center area only.

Join a culinary secrets of authentic Balinese cooking, utilising traditional ingredients and preparation methods, in a fully equipped community village kitchen. Start from 7.00am in the morning, you are taken to Ubud Traditional market where you will buy your cooking ingredients while trying your bartering skills with the local seller. Heading to the village house where the Balinese chef will guided you step by step in a traditional Balinese kitchen. Your cooking class is concluded with you sitting down to enjoy your creation.

CAU Chocolate & Farming Tour

Pick up by from the hotel, our guide will take you to Marga village in Tabanan regency to step into this chocolate heaven and join the factory tour at Cau Chocolate. You will not only see but also feel, smell and taste the process of transforming organic cocoa beans into delicious Balinese chocolate. Located between verdant rice fields of Bali, Cau Chocolate is one of the few places in the world where chocolate is made only minutes away from where it is grown. The tour starts with a short walk through the cocoa plantation, where you will learn how the plants are grown and harvested before being fermented and dried. Now it’s time to see the chocolate making process in action with the grinding, crunching and tempering process as the liquid chocolate is poured onto a table and it smoothed until perfection. After lunch you will move to a nearby field and see first hand how the rice is cultivated and join the people in the planting process. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel.
